REGIONAL MARITIME UNIVERSITY DELEGATE PAYS COURTESY CALL ON TRANSPORT MINISTER

7th Floor, Youyi Building 31st October ,2022. Delegates from the Regional Maritime University has today paid courtesy call on the Minister and Management of the Ministry of Transport and Aviation.

The Director of Administration at the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration, Mrs. Inatorma Coomber introduced the delegation from the Regional Maritime University in Ghana, Accra, to the Minister and Management among them were the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jethro W.Brooks, Jr. ,the University Registrar ,Dr. Baboucarr Njie and the Director of Finance ,Ms. Vania O.E Thomas.

In his welcome address, the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Honorable Kabineh Kalloh expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the delegation for the visit, adding that the visit is a sign of a strong regional maritime solidarity and Cooperation existing among member states.

He assured the delegation of Sierra Leone’s commitment in ensuring its fullest support and participation in promoting maritime cooperation and human capital development in the maritime industry of the sub-region.

The Senior Permanent Secretary, Al-Hassan Kondeh re-echoed similar sentiments of the Minister as he welcomed and thanked the delegation for coming and wished them a fruitful and productive stay in Freetown.

In his response, the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jethro Brooks thanked the Minister and Management of the Ministry for their hospitality, noting that since their arrival in Sierra Leone they have had a very good time with the Maritime sector.

He thanked the Government and people of Sierra Leone for the cooperation and support to the Regional Maritime University especially during this difficult time.

He assured the Minister of the University’s commitment in enhancing the development of the Maritime Transport Sector among member states through the maritime education of students, training of maritime personnel and the promotion of maritime cooperation.
